Math, Civics & Sciences cracks national rankings

Jeremiah Worthem scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Math, Civics & Sciences topped Del-Val Charter, 65-57, in a Public League A boys' basketball game.

The win improved the Mighty Elephants to 17-0 overall and 8-0 in league. On Monday, MaxPreps.com ranked MC&S as the No. 15 team in the nation.

Quadir Welton added eight rebounds and six points.

From MaxPreps: "We would have looked like geniuses if we had taken a "keep an eye on us" email from the MC&S coaching staff a little more seriously before the season. The Mighty Elephants are on top of the food chain in the Keystone State after an impressive weekend that included double-digit victories over Penn Wood (Lansdowne) and Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions winner Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.). MC&S also has impressive wins over South Shore (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia) this season."
