La Salle's Amar Stukes nears 1,000th point

La Salle senior guard Amar Stukes will almost certainly highlight the Explorers Senior Day on Sunday afternoon with his 1,000th career point.

The Explorers host Archbishop Carroll at 2:30 in the Catholic League regular season finale.

The 6-foot-2 Stukes, who is committed to La Salle University, has 992 career points after scoring 18 points in Friday's 57-56 loss at Ryan.

If Stukes reaches the milestone on Sunday, he will be the first La Salle player to scorer 1,000 since Joe Meade since 1997.

A win on Sunday combined with a loss by Archbishop Ryan would lock the Explorers into the fourth-seed of next week's playoffs. A loss to Carroll would keep La Salle at No. 6 and a win combined with a Ryan win would move La Salle to the fifth seed.

Also at stake on Sunday is the 10th and final seed in the playoffs as Conwell-Egan hosts Lansdale Catholic at 7.

Here's a look at the Catholic League standings heading into the final day:
