Imhotep senior point guard Brandon Austin committed to Providence on Monday night.
Austin said his decision came down to the Friars and Connecticut. He said Providence coach Ed Cooley told him he will start as a freshman and "will be the man the moment he steps on campus."
"It means someone trusts me and believes in me to take their team to the next level," Austin said.
He said he feels much better and is looking forward to his senior season at Imhotep.
"Anytime a kid gets a scholarship to go to college, it's a good thing," said Imhotep coach Andre Noble
