The last two times Gloucester and Haddon Township girls’ basketball teams met in the playoffs, a combined four points decided the games.

Gloucester made sure no nail-biting was necessary Monday, blitzing host Haddon Township, 51-25, to win its first South Jersey Group I title since 2009. Gloucester fell to eventual state champion Cedar Creek in last year's final.

Madison McClintock scored 19 points and had 20 rebounds. Mackenzie Cooper and Alisha Fox each added 12. Kathy Velez scored eight.

The second-seeded Lions (25-3) won their four tournament games by an average of nearly 29 points per game. They held the No. 1 seed Hawks (25-3) without a field goal in the second quarter, outscoring them, 15-2, in the period.

Alayxiah Carr led Haddon Township with eight points. Bella Preziosi added seven.

Gloucester beat Haddon Township in the semifinal last season. The previous year, Haddon Township knocked off Gloucester in the final.
