Germantown Friends holds on for 1-0 win

Thanks to another strong showing by junior goaltender Caroline Myran, Germantown Friends needed only one goal to defeat George School in a Friends Schools League girls' soccer matchup Friday. Sophomore Greta Meyer took care of the scoring, and the Tigers came away victorious, 1-0, at home.

In the 25th minute, Germantown Friends set up a play off a restart in George School's zone. Junior Rachel Allison crossed the ball down into the box. Meyer beat her defender by out-positioning her and received the ball. She turned toward the net and sent a volley that beat the goaltender.

Myran added a sixth shutout to her stellar season by stopping all three George School shots on goal.

The Tigers improved to 6-1-2 overall this season and 4-0-1 in league play.
