Ashley Webster, a former player at Philadelphia University and assistant coach at Cheltenham, has been named girls' basketball coach at Germantown Friends School, athletic director Katie Bergstrom Mark announced Friday.
“Ashley comes to GFS with five years of coaching experience from a local powerhouse program Cheltenham High School,” Bergstrom Mark said in a news release.
A Cheltenham graduate, Webster was an all-American player at Philadelphia University, coached by Tom Shirley, one of the NCAA's winningest coaches. She was a 1,000-plus-point scorer at the university, and captain of the squad during her senior season.
Webster received a master’s degree from West Chester University in school counseling and educational psychology, and holds a bachlelor's in psychology from Philadelphia University, according to the release.
