District 12 and state wrestling matches moved to La Salle at 3 p.m.

By Pat Leonard For the Inquirer La Salle and George Washington's District 12 wrestling championship Tuesday has been moved from Methacton High School to La Salle's campus in Flourtown and will begin between 3 and 3:30 p.m., more than an hour ahead of schedule, according to district wrestling chairperson Lou Moyerman. Immediately after, the winner of that match then will wrestle the District 1 two-seed, Council Rock South, in the first round of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association state team tournament. The Catholic League champion Explorers and the Public League champion Eagles were originally scheduled to wrestle Saturday before the weekend snowstorm forced a postponement. Since the PIAA team wrestling championships are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Giant Center in Hershey, the three teams were required to schedule both the district and state matches this afternoon to complete their sliver of the bracket in time.
