Conestoga tops Garnet Valley in Central League field hockey clash

Oliver Everts scored from just inside the circle to put Conestoga ahead on Thursday afternoon and the Pioneers held on to down Garnet Valley, 3-2, in a matchup of two of the Central League's top field hockey teams.

Oliver Everts scored from just inside the circle to put Conestoga ahead on Thursday afternoon and the Pioneers held on to down Garnet Valley, 3-2, in a matchup of two of the Central League's top field hockey teams.

Everts, a junior, also assisted a goal. Meghan Connors and Maggie Friel scored for the Pioneers, who scored three times after halftime. Chloe Johnson had 16 saves and Natalie Leiser recorded two key defensive saves.

Conestoga (10-0 in league) plays its final league game on Tuesday night against Penncrest.
