Battling cramps and fatigue all day long, running back Ibraheim Campbell stepped up, just like Chestnut Hill coach Rick Knox said he would.

On five straight plays, Campbell rushed for 47 yards, capped by a 28-yard touchdown scamper to finally put a resilient North Catholic team away. Chestnut Hill defeated North Catholic, 21-13 at Landreth Field.

The Blue Devils led 14-0 for much of the game but failed to put North Catholic away until Campbell’s touchdown with 3:14 left.

North Catholic played much of the second half without star tailback Eugene Byrd, who suffered an ankle injury on the Falcons’ first drive of the third quarter.
