Chester's Rondae Jefferson scores 1,000th career point as Clippers roll

Chester senior forward Rondae Jefferson scored 23 points and became the 28th player in school-history to record 1,000 career points as the Clippers rolled over Williamsport, 67-50, at Pottsville in the second round of the PIAA Class AAAA boys basketball playoffs.

The McDonalds All-American headed to Arizona reached the milestone on a pair of free throws in the third quarter. He is the first Clippers player to reach 1,000 since Maurice Nelson, Lamon Church and Dequann Walker did so in 2011. Jefferson now has 1,010 career points  which ties him for 26th all-time. With another 50 career points, Jefferson can pass his older brother Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson.

Jefferson pulled off a windmill dunk in transition with less than 30 seconds left to seal the win. He also grabbed 14 rebounds. Khalili Williams aided the win with nine points and six rebounds off the bench.

Chester, the defending two-time champions, will meet Great Valley on Saturday in the quarterfinals. The time and site has not been announced.
