C.B. WEST'S RASHAAD WILLIAMS RUNS WILD IN WIN

According to team records, Central Bucks West senior tailback Rashaad Williams carried 28 times for a single-game school-record of 427 yards and five touchdowns as the No. 10-seeded Bucks ousted No. 7 Coatesville, 42-28, Friday in the opening round of the PIAA District 1 Class AAAA tournament. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound Williams fell just 61 yards sort of the state record of 488 yards, set by Harbor Creek’s Stephen Blose in a 2005 contest versus For7 LeBoeuf. The Philadelphia-area record of 453 yards was set by Germantown Academy’s Reed Marko in 2007. Led by Williams, the Bucks won their first playoff game since 2000, when they advanced to the state championship before losing to Erie Cathedral Prep, 41-35, in Hershey. The loss stopped West’s state-record winning streak at 59 games.
