Deshaun Burgess’ four touchdowns led Paulsboro to a 28-25 victory against visiting Haddon Heights in a Colonial Conference interdivision game Saturday.
Burgess ran for 112 yards on 20 carries, caught four passes for 85 yards and three touchdowns, and took a kickoff 85 yards for a TD. His TD receptions covered 23, 44, and 21 yards.
Zack Funk threw for 168 yards on 15-for-22 passing with three touchdowns and an interception.
Dante Pinckney completed 18 of 25 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns for Haddon Heights (3-2).
Burgess scored three times in the first half to give the Red Raiders (3-2) a 28-25 lead at halftime.
He opened the scoring with a 23-yard catch. After Kenny Lewis tied the game with an 8-yard reception, Lewis took Funk’s pass 44 yards to put the Red Raiders ahead.
Pinckney threw another score to close within two, but Burgess capped the first-half scoring with another reception, resulting in a 21-yard touchdown.
Pinckney found Kashif Miller for a 92-yard TD in the third quarter, but Burgess took the ensuing kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown, giving Paulsboro a 28-18 lead in the fourth quarter.
