Brett Beaumont's first-half goal proved to be the game winner as host Archbishop Ryan held on to edge Roman Catholic, 1-0, in the quarterfinals of the Catholic League boys' soccer tournament.

Jim Smith won a loose ball near midfield and found Brett Beaumont on a through ball for the goal. Beaumont, a senior striker, scored from 20-yards out in the 20th minute.

Jared Ott posted the shutout with five saves.

    It was Nick Azzolina that assisted on the goal to Brett Beaumont, not Jim Smith. Give the little guy some credit.
