Adu breaks Atlantic City goal record

The final score wasn't exactly the outcome that the Atlantic City boys' soccer team was hoping for, but there was a silver lining: Senior Akwasi Adu's lone goal set him atop the school's all-time single-season list.

In a heavy rain that made balls slide and bounce more than usual, Egg Harbor Township scored three times in the first half and defeated Adu's Vikings, 3-1. Junior Ardit Ala scored twice and Grant Spoltore added a goal to give Egg Harbor a 3-0 lead at the half.

Adu scored in the second half for his 18th goal this season. It broke the previous school record of 17 goals. Adu has six goals in his last three games.
