Here is the Friday football roundup:
There’s no way to get around it. Upper Dublin simply has Upper Moreland’s number on the football field.
No matter what kind of a season the Golden Bears have had over the last six seasons, the Cardinals found a way to win.
In a Suburban One American Conference game, Anthony Williams rushed for over 130 yards and two touchdowns to boost Upper Dublin past Upper Moreland, 20-13.
The Golden Bears (2-2, 0-1), playing without injured star Chris Smallwood, took a 13-10 lead in the third quarter on Greg Adamson’s second touchdown. But the Cardinals (1-3, 1-0) rallied behind a 5-yard touchdown run by Williams and a 32-yard field goal by Casey Boyd.
Norristown 28, Cheltenham 0 — Tracey Presley scored the first and last touchdowns of the game and helped the Eagles (4-0, 1-0) beat the Panthers (1-3, 0-1) at Roosevelt Field.
Presley opened the scoring for Norristown with a 4-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, then closed it in the third quarter with a 13-yard scamper. In between, Sheldon Mayer took a punt 80 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter and Anthony Robey caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Shannon Mayer in the third quarter.
