In a battle befitting a pair of soccer teams that had yet to lose in the Central League, only one goal was needed to decide the outcome.
Joe Raymond scored with 13 minutes left in the game and Strath Haven held on to beat host Lower Merion, 1-0. The Panthers (8-1-2, 7-0) is ranked 11th in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association poll. The Aces (9-2, 6-1) are ranked second in the coaches poll and fourth in The Inquirer’s top 10 poll.
Conor Waraksa assisted on the goal and Kelsey Beck-Cullen tossed the shutout in goal with an 11-save performance. Jack Van Adelsberg stopped 10 shots for Lower Merion.
Moshue Wamulume picked up a hat trick and led Penncrest past visiting Ridley, 6-1.
Wamulume converted a penalty kick to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. His third goal gave Penncrest a 3-1 halftime lead.
Louis Cumberland, Ben Davis and Ryan Trerotola added single goals and Ian Campbell stopped eight shots for the Lions. David Simpson scored and Chris Raudabaugh turned aside 15 shots for the Green Raiders.

Archbishop Ryan pushed up stopper Mark Vogelman into the attack area and the move paid off in a 1-0 Catholic League win over visiting Archbishop Wood. Vogelman made the most of a free ball 25 yards away from the goal and blasted a hard shot that found the net with 10 minutes left.
The Raiders (6-2-1 overall, 2-2-1 league) also played good defense in front of goalie Kyle Murphy, who needed to make only four saves for the shutout.
Darius Madison scored twice as La Salle topped visiting Roman Catholic, 3-0.

In the field will be Bishop Shanahan. The Eagles have been ranked No. 1 in Class AAA by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association since the beginning of the season and made it this week to 93 in the country by Prep Volleyball. They are 7-0 and have lost just one set.

There’s no way to get around it. Upper Dublin simply has Upper Moreland’s number on the football field.
No matter what kind of a season the Golden Bears have had over the last six seasons, the Cardinals found a way to win.
In a Suburban One American Conference game, Anthony Williams rushed for over 130 yards and two touchdowns to boost Upper Dublin past Upper Moreland, 20-13.
The Golden Bears (2-2, 0-1), playing without injured star Chris Smallwood, took a 13-10 lead in the third quarter on Greg Adamson’s second touchdown. But the Cardinals (1-3, 1-0) rallied behind a 5-yard touchdown run by Williams and a 32-yard field goal by Casey Boyd.
Norristown 28, Cheltenham 0 — Tracey Presley scored the first and last touchdowns of the game and helped the Eagles (4-0, 1-0) beat the Panthers (1-3, 0-1) at Roosevelt Field.
Presley opened the scoring for Norristown with a 4-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, then closed it in the third quarter with a 13-yard scamper. In between, Sheldon Mayer took a punt 80 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter and Anthony Robey caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Shannon Mayer in the third quarter.
