Farewell South Jersey athletes, coaches, parents, fellow writers and others who have made my five years, five months of covering sports full-time in the area a memorable and enriching experience.

After today, I no longer will be a staff writer for The Inquirer. It's time for me to move on. I have a project that will keep me busy for a year or more and it will occupy most of my time.

The rest of the time? You might see my by-line like this: By Bill Iezzi, For The Inquirer. I'd like that. Hope you do, too.

The Oakcrest girls’ soccer team has struggled to get its attack in gear in winning just once in seven games this season. But standout goaltending by Hilary Rosenberg enabled the Falcons to push Ocean City to the limit yesterday, before the host Red Raiders pulled out a 1-0 win in double overtime.
Rosenberg made 16 saves but couldn’t stop freshman Taylor Gardner from registering her first varsity goal — on a blast into the upper corner of the net with 2 minutes, 18 seconds remaining in the second extra session of the Cape-Atlantic League match.
Julie Burnell stopped 10 shots to earn the shutout for Ocean City (4-0-1). Oakcrest (1-5-1) went scoreless for the fifth time.
