Jasmin James needed only to cross the street to play next-door neighbor Central Tuesday.
The familiar surroundings must have helped both James and her Girls High teammates in a 5-2 Public League field hockey win as she scored all five goals.
The game was not without an element of drama as the teams took a 2-2 tie into the second half and James got loose for the winning goal and two insurance tallies.
Most of James’ goals were off rebounds, but one came assisted by Brandy Tucker.

In other league games:

Kelsey Palmer found the range on all three of Washington’s goals in a 3-0 win at rival Lincoln.
Other than Palmer, though, Lincoln goalie Jennipher Zorrilla was perfect in 10 opportunities. Washington goalie Julianna Garcia did not face a shot, but got the shutout.
