Becky Donkin and Samantha Bartow assisted on each other’s goals and Maggie Smith added an unassisted goal to beat visiting Academy Park, 3-0, in a nonleague game to keep Ridley unbeaten.

The Green Raiders (10-0) got an active game in goal from Meghan Pitts, who rejected the 12 shots she faced.

Malvern Prep’s Bobby Hill got behind Frankford’s defense twice in the fourth quarter to seal a 23-20 nonleague road football win yesterday.

With 8 minutes 24 seconds left, Hill sped past the Pioneers for a 20-yard run and caught the two-point conversion pass for the final points of the game.

It was the second of two touchdown runs for Hill, who finished with 89 yards rushing to lead the Friars (2-1).

Archbishop Ryan pushed up stopper Mark Vogelman into the attack area and the move paid off in a 1-0 Catholic League win over visiting Archbishop Wood. Vogelman made the most of a free ball 25 yards away from the goal and blasted a hard shot that found the net with 10 minutes left.

The Raiders (6-2-1 overall, 2-2-1 league) also played good defense in front of goalie Kyle Murphy, who needed to make only four saves for the shutout.

Darius Madison scored twice as La Salle topped visiting Roman Catholic, 3-0.

Archbishop Ryan got goals from Lauren Smith and Kristine Visco in a 2-1 Catholic League win over visiting St. Hubert.

Kelsey Byrne and Katie Kelly each had a pair of goals and assists to lead Archbishop Carroll to a 6-2 win over visiting Kennedy-Kenrick.

Inter-Ac. Katie Gerzabek scored three goals for Notre Dame in a 7-0 win at Penn Charter.

Central League

Lower Merion freshman Moira Petrie put her head to good use and led the Aces to a 2-1 win over host Haverford High in a Central League girls’ soccer game yesterday.
With two minutes left in the game, Petrie, a center forward, put her head on the ball inside the box and sent it into the net.
Melissa Scanzano gave the Fords a 1-0 lead in the first half, but Carly Icnniowski tied the game for Lower Merion in the second half.


Michaela Whitelaw scored in the 35th minute to give Strath Haven a 2-1 win over visiting Ridley. Victoria Batter gave the Green Raiders a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the game, but Gina DiTaranto tied the game for the Panthers a minute later.

The Shiiba brothers all found the back of the net for Strath Haven and the youngest scored the first goal of his career as the Panthers dropped host Ridley, 7-1, in a Central League game.
Freshman Mark Shiiba collected his first goal to go with goals by brothers John and Thomas. Dennis Zonchor did most of the damage for Strath Haven with a hat trick while Joe Raymond added a goal. Joe Bencrowsky scored for the Green Raiders.

Penncrest used goals by Adam Muetterties-Schultz, Wade Phillips and Moshue Wamulume to beat visiting Garnet Valley, 3-1.
Adam Mondell scored for the Jaguars who got 12 saves from Joe Marino. Ian Campbell stopped 12 shots for the Lions.

Heather Jackson scored three goals, and Haley O’Donnell registered her first varsity goal as host Academy Park coasted past Chichester, 5-0, in a Del-Val League game.
Joe Forte also scored for the Vanguards (3-3-1, 2-0-1).
O’Donnell was an early substitute for Academy Park. Jackson now has four goals in seven games.

Interboro peppered Penn Wood goalie Owumni Jolaoso with 27 shots, but got only one by her and that turned out to be the game-winner for Shannon Deihl.
Erika Tambon assisted on the goal with 13:51 minutes left in the first half.
Amanda Hoffman needed to make only three saves in goal the shutout.

Conestoga took Lower Merion’s best punch and quickly delivered a knockout blow in a 4-1 Central League soccer win over the visiting Aces.
The Pioneers (6-0 overall, 4-0 league) saw the Aces score a goal in the opening minutes, but then Kim Shoup scored the next two goals to give them the lead for good.
Also scoring for Conestoga were Salina Williford and Sophia Zahan.
Alex Stone got the shutout in goal for the Pioneers.

In other league games:

Radnor (6-0-2) remained unbeaten with a 2-0 win over Garnet Valley, getting goals from forwards Alyssa Dunlap, a senior, and Leah O’Malley, a sophomore.
