Andi Stampone doubled her season total in goals with four to lead host Germantown Academy past Agnes Irwin, 5-0. Kacie Kergides, who assisted on the final three Stampone goals, also scored for the Patriots (7-4-1).

J. B. Loomis had a pair of assists for Shipley in a 3-0 win over visiting Moorestown Friends.

Kristine Visco’s goal with 15 minutes left in the second half gave host Archbishop Ryan a 1-0 Catholic League win over Conwell-Egan.

Tori Veoli scored twice for host St. Hubert in a 5-0 win over Little Flower. Julia Delong, Ann McCrane and Katie McFadden also scored.

Harriton's Sam Hockfield fired a 2-under-par 70 and won the Central League’s District 1 qualifier at Downingtown Country Club.

Ian Bellah of Lower Merion was second with a 74, while Brian Cizek of Conestoga and Michael Kelley of Springfield (Delaware County) shot 76s to headline a list of 18 qualifiers.

The District 1 tournament is Tuesday and Wednesday at Turtle Creek.

Here are the current point ratings, through Oct. 4, for the PIAA football playoffs for District 1 teams. Included is the team record, points earned, and the average determined by dividing the points by the number of games played. It is the average that determines the season-ending placement for the playoffs.
District 1 Class AAAA
16 teams will qualify for the District 1 playoffs.

Conwell-Egan’s Bill Castor found the range in spite of a fierce Lansdale Catholic defense and helped the Eagles come from behind to earn a dramatic Catholic League Blue Division soccer win at the United German Hungarian Club in Oakford Monday.

Castor scored from 19 yards out with a minute left to give Conwell-Egan a 2-1 victory. As a result, the Eagles (8-2-2 overall, 7-2-1 league) moved past the Crusaders (6-4-1, 6-3-1) into second place in the division.

Sean Rooney gave Lansdale Catholic a 1-0 lead in the first half, but John Richards tied the game when he converted a goal from 55 yards out. Mike Keenan stopped 22 shots to earn the win in goal for the Eagles while Crusaders’ goalie Chris Takemori turned aside 15 shots.

Emma Husted-Sherman scored twice for Strath Haven in a 6-0 nonleague win at Great Valley.

Kim Shoup scored on a through ball off a Tori DiRico assist to give host Conestoga a 1-0 win over West Chester Rustin. Conestoga, the No. 2 team in the Inquirer Top 10, is now 10-1.

Baldwin got three saves from goalie Claire Henkel in a 3-0 win over visiting Friends’ Central.

Delco Christian and Upper Darby played 60 minutes of nonleague field hockey without a goal yesterday but needed only 27 seconds after that to decide it.
Brittney Weidemann scored 27 seconds into the overtime to give Delco Christian a 1-0 road win.
Emily Lindemuth had 12 saves in goal to earn the shutout for the Knights (4-5).

In other nonleague games:

Haley Smith’s first-half goal gave Jenkintown a 1-0 win at Nazareth Academy.

Phil-Mont Christian rallied for three second-half goals, two by Soraya Toppin, to beat visiting Germantown Friends, 5-3, in a nonleague game.
Toppin finished with three goals on the afternoon. Also contributing for the Falcons (8-2) was Madeline Romig, who had a goal and two assists.


Interboro’s Dana Froio had a hat trick in an 8-1 win over visiting Academy of the New Church.


Camy Anderson scored twice for host Friends Select in a 4-0 win over Girard College.
