Council Rock North’s Carly Everett got hit in the eye in pregame warm-ups, requiring stitches, but she went onto to score two goals ice as many goals as she had all year in a 3-1 Suburban One National Conference field hockey win over visiting William Tennent.


Everett’s two first-half goals helped the Indians (9-4-1 overall, 7-2-1 league) take a commanding 3-1 lead at halftime.
First-half goals by Cara Deola, Colleen Diviny and Sam Facciola gave host Council Rock South a 3-0 win over Bensalem.

Gwynedd-Mercy Academy needed a second-half goal by Morgan Sheridan to break a tie and win, 1-0, over visiting St. Basil in an Athletic Association of Catholic Academies soccer game Tuesday.

Goalie Courtney Sullivan, a freshman, prevented the Panthers from getting the equalizer by turning back all nine shots she faced. It was Sullivan’s fourth shutout of the season.

Catholic. Megan Poiesz scored three goals and added an assist for host Lansdale Catholic in its 6-0 win over Cardinal O’Hara.

Kate Hopkins barely broke a sweat as Unionville’s first-half goalie in an 8-0 Ches-Mont League win at Oxford, but got plenty of exercise in the second half by scoring a pair of goals for the Indians. Hopkins had no saves because the Indians (10-2-1 overall, 9-0 league) handcuffed the Hornets to no shots.
The same was true for Hopkins’ backup goalie, Dana Robidoux, who subbed in the second half and also had no saves.

First-half goals by Laura Davidson and Emily Heitzman gave host Kennett a 2-0 win over Great Valley.

Pioneer Athletic. Raelynn Mikell scored a goal and assisted on the other as Boyertown survived, 2-1, at Perkiomen Valley. The Bears (11-2, 9-0) got three saves from goalie Lizzie Kish. Amie Cross scored a second-half goal for the Vikings.

Duke-bound Kaitlyn Kerr, who lives in Bensalem, scored all three goals for host Pennington (N.J.) in a 3-3 tie with Downingtown West.
The Whippets (9-0-1) remained unbeaten thanks to goals from Stephanie Myers, Ali Whitney and Jenn Wittick.
Madeline Romig, Emily Steiger and Meghan Toohey scored for

Phil-Mont Christian in a 3-0 win at Doane Academy (N.J.).

Priscilla Wiggins scored three goals and Aly Passanante added three assists for George School in a 7-0 win at Friends Select.

Phil-Mont Christian rallied for three second-half goals, two by Soraya Toppin, to beat visiting Germantown Friends, 5-3, in a nonleague game.
Toppin finished with three goals on the afternoon. Also contributing for the Falcons (8-2) was Madeline Romig, who had a goal and two assists.


Interboro’s Dana Froio had a hat trick in an 8-1 win over visiting Academy of the New Church.


Camy Anderson scored twice for host Friends Select in a 4-0 win over Girard College.

Avery Curley helped Episcopal Academy open up the Inter-Ac League portion of its schedule on a strong note by scoring three goals in a 6-0 win over visiting Germantown Academy.
Curley also added an assist for the Churchwomen (3-4 overall, 1-0 league).

Penn Charter got a pair of second-half goals to break a tie and win, 4-2, at Springside. Dani Bembry, Grace McInerney, Ali Rosen, and Allison Thompson scored for the Quakers.
Katie Gerzabek scored half of Notre Dame’s goals in an 8-1 win over visiting Agnes Irwin.

Katie Buohl, Corey Meanix, and Devin Simpson scored two goals apiece for host Octorara in a 13-0 Ches-Mont League win over Oxford.

The Braves led, 9-0, at the half.

Catholic Academies. Emily Waschenko scored and her sister, Tori, assisted in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 3-1 win over visiting Merion Mercy. Erin Casey and Maria Fabrizio also scored.

Archbishop Ryan got goals from Lauren Smith and Kristine Visco in a 2-1 Catholic League win over visiting St. Hubert.

Kelsey Byrne and Katie Kelly each had a pair of goals and assists to lead Archbishop Carroll to a 6-2 win over visiting Kennedy-Kenrick.

Inter-Ac. Katie Gerzabek scored three goals for Notre Dame in a 7-0 win at Penn Charter.

Here is the girls' soccer roundup:

It was Maura Gifford’s birthday, but Lansdale Catholic’s soccer team was doing the receiving and not the giving.
Gifford’s goal in the game’s 74th minute clinched the 2-0 nonleague win at rival Gwynedd-Mercy.
Most of the game was a scoreless tie until the 67th minute when freshman Hannah Whitby scored.
Seven minutes later, Gifford, a senior, put the game away with the insurance goal.


Kelly McGlynn scored 20 minutes into the first half for the game-winner in Abington Friends’ 2-0 win at Bishop McDevitt.
The Kangaroos got a second-half insurance goal from Robyn Harding.
