Farewell South Jersey athletes, coaches, parents, fellow writers and others who have made my five years, five months of covering sports full-time in the area a memorable and enriching experience.
After today, I no longer will be a staff writer for The Inquirer. It's time for me to move on. I have a project that will keep me busy for a year or more and it will occupy most of my time.
The rest of the time? You might see my by-line like this: By Bill Iezzi, For The Inquirer. I'd like that. Hope you do, too.

Bishop Eustace (2-1) at Paul; VI (1-2) is 6 ABC's football Game of the Week and yours truly will be there Friday night, twittering scores and covering the action in this West Jersey Football League interdivisional battle.
Just because Eustace is in the Independence Division and Paul VI is in the Constitution doesn't mean that the two teams won't go all out for a win. They go at each other hard in every sport. - Bill Iezzi
The Bishop Eustace field hockey team had the No. 1 team in South Jersey, and possibly the state, on the ropes Thursday and let them off.
Eustace was leading Eastern, 3-1 at imtermission and lost, 4-3. But that did not dissuade Crusaders' coach Krissy Holak from praising her players.
"They got us on corners and that's what they do," Holak said of Eastern's 17 penalty corners, three of which it scored on. "They're good at creating them.
The highest area seed in South Non-Public A is Camden Catholic, at No. 4. But it isn't likely that the Irish or No. 5 Bishop Eustace or No. 8 Paul VI will get to the final.
However, in Non-Public B No. 3 Sacred Heart on the right side of the bracket and No. 5 Gloucester Catholic on the left side, could meet in the final. Gloucester Catholic wins by a run.
Washington Township clobbered No. 8 Eastern, 9-1, Wednesday to send shock waves through The Inquirer's Top 10 rankings.
The unranked Minutemaids stroked 14 hits, including doubles by Christina Austin, Kylie Mullholland, Kristen Turner, Alissa Schoelkopf, Nikki Sandelier and Jessica Fanty.
Junior Steph Vuono, the Vikings' No. 1 pitcher, suffered her first loss of the season.
Camden Catholic has no No. 1 seeds entering the quarterfinal round of the Region 7 wrestling tournament at Robbinsville Friday night.
However, check out the No. 2 seeds at 125 and 135: Matt Sausman and T.J. Miller, respectively. Sausman is on a mission to defeat top-seeded Jason Gallagher, a Bishop Eustace senior who took the district title from him. Miller wants to test top-seeded Tyler Scotton.
Two of Camden Catholic's six grapplers in teh quarterfinals, Sausman and Miller are capable of upsetting the apple carts.
Bishop Eustace's Jason Gallagher has a bye in the Region 7 pre-quarterfinals Wednesday because he won the District 27 title at 125 pounds.
Meanwhile, the wrestler he beat, three-time district winner Matt Sausman of Camden Catholic, will be battling his way back in order to get a crack at Gallagher and/or the region crown.
In four previous clashes with Sausman, Gallagher had never beaten him.
Bishop Eustace's Krissy Holak has become one of the top field hockey coaches in South Jersey.
The Crusaders proved it when they won the Group 2 state title, 2-1, over West Essex on Nov. 14. It was their third straight trip to the final. They were there in 2006, too.
Holak took over the program in 2005. Her record is 94-29-7.
