Farewell South Jersey athletes, coaches, parents, fellow writers and others who have made my five years, five months of covering sports full-time in the area a memorable and enriching experience.
After today, I no longer will be a staff writer for The Inquirer. It's time for me to move on. I have a project that will keep me busy for a year or more and it will occupy most of my time.
The rest of the time? You might see my by-line like this: By Bill Iezzi, For The Inquirer. I'd like that. Hope you do, too.

I wasn't surprised when I looked at the District 28 wrestling seedings and saw Haddonfield lead the pack with five top spots.
The No. 1s are Kyle Klaus (112), Kevin Gregorio (125), Will Dengler (145), Carson Stack (189) and Kris Rahn (215).
Stack has the best record among them, 29-1.
Jasmine Bradley couldn't have picked a better time to score her third goal of the season.
Bradley slapped a shot past Cherry Hill West goal keeper Stephanie Carfagno in the secopnd period of their Olympic Patriot game Monday to tie the score, 2-2.
No one scored in overtime, so both teams left the field with a tie.

There are so many interesting basketball openers on Friday, but one that truly catches our eye has Washington Township at Pennsauken in a 7 p.m. Olympic American matchup. Township has four starters returning led by 6-10 LaSalle recruit Matt Lopez and the Minutemen appear to be among the many contenders in an American Division in which Cherokee opens up as the favorite.Pennsauken is among the most interesting teams in South Jersey. The Indians should benefit greatly from 6-4 Trenton Catholic transfer Frank Smalls, along with Camden transfers Hubert Simmons and Takwail Bailey.
Those three, in addition to football standouts Marcus Jones and Sid Holmes, should give the Indians a formidable frontcourt.

Gloucester Catholic and host Glassboro battled through 98 scoreless minutes before the Catholic boys’ soccer team finally squeezed out a 1-0 double-overtime triumph the Tri-County Conference.
Ryan Casey scored the goal off a corner kick with two minutes left in the second overtime period, and the Rams earned their sixth shutout of the season.
Also in the Tri-County, Kevin Calloway scored a goal and assisted on goals by Max Crisman and Bill Tompkins, steering Clearview past host Kingsway, 3-0. Goalie Steve Keane made seven saves for the Pioneers (10-0-1).
Salem used Zach Costroff’s nine-save goaltending to collect a 2-0 shutout at Wildwood. Rob Lindenmuth and Michka Tosan scored the Rams’ goals.

Pennsauken coach Shana Smeriglio knows that her team has no chance to catch Shawnee in the Olympic Patriot Division race, so she's focusing the team on making the playoffs.
With the cutoff date in two weeks, the Indians are 5-4 overall and looking to take one back from Triton on Oct. 12.
Triton beat the Indians, 1-0, on Sept. 17 in a Patriot Division game.
