The Shipley field hockey team continued its dominance of the Friends League this year, rolling to its fourth championship in the five years it has been a member of league. In winning their second straight title, the Gators put the icing on the cake by finishing unbeaten (15-0) for the first time.
“We only graduated three seniors last year — two starters —so we felt we had a good chance of winning again,” coach Katie Whelan said. “Going unbeaten was special.”

Prep Charter earned a couple of firsts Tuesday with a 2-1 soccer win over Masterman at Northeast.
It was the Huskies’ first Public League Class AA soccer championship in their first title appearance.
It was a come-from-behind one, as George Eastwood and Jude Kpollie scored after spotting the Blue Dragons (3-8) a 1-0 second-half lead. Eastwood, a freshman forward, tied the game with 15 minutes left and eight minutes later crossed a pass to Kpollie, who found the range from a spot six yards out in front of the Masterman net.
After getting out of the gate with a 10-0 record and a No.1 ranking in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association poll, Council Rock North is 1-1-1 in its last three games including a 2-2 double-overtime tie with host William Tennent in a Suburban One National Conference game 10-9.
The Indians needed a goal with seven minutes left in regulation from Billy McConnell to tie the game.
Phil Marks preserved the shutout for the Indians with 12 saves.
Jarvis Lynch picked up a pair of goals and led Lamberton past host Parkway Center City, 4-3.
Trey Mason and Nil-Cludly Pierre also scored for the Blue Devils and Hamed Bandini notched a hat trick for Parkway.

Great Valley needed some scoring help in the second half of its Ches-Mont League game with visiting Kennett and got it from Adam Boehr. Boehr connected for a second-half hat trick and led the Patriots past the Blue Demons in double overtime, 3-2.
Kennett grabbed a 2-0 lead on goals by Jake Tully and Alejandro Zavala in the first half, but Boehr came through in the second half, tying the game with 20 minutes left in regulation and won the game 2 minutes, 45 seconds into the first overtime.
Dan Shackleton stopped five shots to earn the win in goal and Greg Danchik turned aside 10 shots for Kennett.

Despite 37 saves from goalie Katy Schlechtweg, Shipley outlasted host Moorestown Friends, 3-0. Avery Safford scored twice and Jill Keeney once.
Madison Fertell scored four goals for host Westtown in a 7-0 win over Friends Select.
Izzy Perres scored twice for Friends’ Central in a 2-1 win at George School.

Jordan Baker’s natural hat trick in the first half gave Owen J. Roberts its lead at halftime in a 6-0 nonleague win at Glen Mills.
The Wildcats added goals in the second half by Jonathan Bush, Taylor Dempsey and Dan Knight.
Evan Seltzer had a pair of assists for host Shipley in a 2-0 win over Delco Christian. Zac Ash and Geoff Stewart scored goals for the Gators (8-2).
Paul Rambo scored twice for Conwell-Egan in a 4-0 win at Cardinal O’Hara.
Kennedy-Kenrick boys’ soccer coach Mike McKenna has struggled to keep his team competitive because of a lack of players and has been successful most of the time.
He may get more players than he knows what to do with after the Wolverines beat Lansdale Catholic in a Catholic League Blue Division game.
Matt Moloney scored twice in the second half and led Kennedy-Kenrick past the host Crusaders, 2-1.
Sean Rooney gave Lansdale Catholic (6-3-1, 6-2-1) a 1-0 lead in the first half, but Moloney tied the game with 16 minutes left in the game and notched the deciding goal with 30 seconds left off a head ball by Danny Price.
The Wolverines got seven saves from Nick Gremminger.
Shane Nicolo scored in the 21st and 29th minutes to help Conwell-Egan beat host Cardinal Dougherty, 3-0.
Matt DiLiegro scored his 11th goal of the season seven minutes into the game to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
Mike Keenan kept the Cardinals off the board with four saves.
Tom Baker and Mike Trodden each earned hat tricks and led Archbishop Wood past host Neumann-Goretti, 9-1.
Carlo Barrera, Chris Rosica and John Strecker picked up single goals for the Vikings who got a combined seven saves from Nick Aglira and Matt Friend. John Cudjik stopped 12 shots and Austin West scored for the Saints.
