Martin Luther King's Joseph Walker, an athletic and strong-armed quarterback, committed Wednesday night to play at Delaware.
"Delaware has been on my list for a while," the 6-foot-3, 190-pound senior said. "The only thing that held me back was waiting to see if anything else came up. But I couldn't I think of a better situation than Delaware for me."
This season, in leading the Cougars to a 10-3 record and the Public League Class AAA championship, Walker threw for 1,708 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Imhotep Charter and St. Joseph's Prep will have to wait to make their bids for a PIAA state football championship.

On Sunday, Imhotep will face District 7's South Fayette at 1 p.m, and St. Joe's Prep will take on District 7's Pittsburgh Central Catholic at 6 p.m.
Citing personal reasons, Tom Kline has stepped down as head football coach at Springfield (Delaware County) after three seasons.
"I live in Downingtown," he said. "The distance away from my family was becoming an issue. I need to spend more time with my wife and kids. That's my No. 1 focus right now."
Kline posted a 21-12 record with the Cougars. This year's squad went 6-5 overall and 5-4 in the Central League.
