The championship of the Burlington County Scholastic League (BCSL) baseball tournament between Holy Cross and Rancocas Valley has been moved from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday at Campbell’s Field, home of the Camden Riversharks.

It may not be the last move made concerning a game with Holy Cross this weekend.

The Lancers will also play at host Washington Township in Saturday’s 10:30 a.m. Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic quarterfinal.

If Holy Cross wins this game, it would have to play the winner of Lenape vs. Eastern in Sunday’s 12:30 p.m. semifinal. The Diamond final is 5 p.m Sunday evening at Eastern.

According to Holy Cross athletic director Dan Dockery, the BCSL final must be completed by 5 p.m. because of another event that the Riversharks have that evening at Campbell’s Field.

So the only flexibility would be to change the time of the Diamond semifinal (providing Holy Cross wins the quarterfinal).

Joe Hartmann, who runs the tournament in his name, said that no decision has been made, but that a potential solution would likely be known by Thursday.

What would likely happen would be to move the Diamond semifinal (if it includes Holy Cross) to earlier Sunday morning.

It is also possible that if Holy Cross is involved, that the Diamond final could be moved back past 5 p.m.

Stay tuned.
