District 12 champ Neumann-Goretti defeated District 3 champ Eastern York, 81-73, Tuesday night at Reading High's Geigle Complex in the PIAA Class AAA semifinals.
Senior forward Danny Stewart led the way with 20 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks and two steals. And senior point guard Tyreek Duren scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half, dishing six assists, most of them to Stewart and a few on alley-oops.
The Saints will play for the AAA state title at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center on Saturday at 8 p.m. The opponent Saturday will Chartiers Valley, the District 7 one seed.
