Christina Foggie, South Jersey’s leading basketball scorer from Lenape, has played her final high school game.
Foggie is sidelined with a season-ending tear in the knuckle of her left index finger, according to her father Jim.
There will be surgery scheduled and then Foggie said she hopes to return by May.
"It's tough but things happen for a reason," she said.
A 5-foot-9 senior guard who is headed to Vanderbilt, Foggie averaged 26.4 points this year and scored 2,137 for her career.
She suffered the injury in a 66-36 win over Mainland on Feb. 20.
Foggie missed last year’s postseason with a knee injury. A top student, Foggie is ranked the 58th best senior in the country in ESPNU’s Hoop Gurlz Top 100.
