Records set at Saturday track meets

Methacton's Carlton Lavong bettered his record in the triple jump by just one inch to highlight the Philadelphia Track and Field Coaches Association Meet at Lehigh University on Saturday.

Lavong's jump of 47 feet, 81/4 inches topped the mark last year he set in the event of 47-71/2.

William Tennent's Mick Coleman provided another highlight with a 14-6 in the pole vault.

In Division II, also at Lehigh, Great Valley and Wissahickon each had a pair of individual winners.

DVTFCA. In the girls' meet at Ursinus, Swenson's Shanae Bailey set a record in the 200-meter dash and Pennsbury's Sara Sargent did the same in the 3,000. Bailey's time of 25.65 seconds and Sargent's was 10 minutes, 6.93 seconds. Bailey nipped West Catholic's Michelle Davis (25.90).
