Bill Iezzi: Thanksgiving Day Game Blues

Palmyra beat Burlington City, 28-21, Thanksgiving day in a competitive game marred by a plethora of penalties on both sides.

Sadly, officials had to order a City player to leave the field in the final minute of play after they slapped him with two penalties: taunting and unsportsmanlike conduct.

He was clearly out of control and that was a bad way to end an old holiday rivalry game.

Meanwhile, City quarterback Shawn Diamond ended his high school career with 1,308 passing yards.

Diamond completed 13 of 22 throws for 211 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
