Haddonfield’s Katie Johnston scored the game-winning goal on a feed from Kathleen Jordan in the 86tth minute to give Haddonfield the Group 2 state title.
Haddonfield’s Kathleen Jordan just hit the post on a rocket shot from 12 yards out after getting free in the 82nd minute.
The game has now moved to overtime, where teams play two sudden death 10-minute periods. If it is still tied, the teams would be co-champs.
Mahwah tied the score at 1-1 when Kristyn Tremblay headed in a cross from Nicole Lee in the 52nd minute.
Haddonfield took a 1-0 lead when Kathleen Jordan scored in the 42nd minute on an assist from Sarah Dudek.
Both teams have had good scoring chances. Both goalies have come up with big saves. Haddonfield’s Christina Davis made a one-haded save on a blast from Mahwah’s all-conference midfielder Brittney Albrecht.
Haddonfield’s Kathleen Jordan was stopped point blank by Mahwah keeper Emily Secor.
