Gloucester Catholic 2 Villa Walsh Academy 0

 

EWING, NJ –  Gloucester Catholic's Chelsea Duffy scored both goals as the Rams beat Villa Walsh Academy, 2-0 in tonight's state Non-Public girls' soccer final at the College of New Jersey.

It was the Rams' sixth state title in school history.

Duffy's second goal in the 63rd minute gave the Rams some needed breathing room against a resilient Vikings team.

After a 35-minute delay caused by lightening, play resumed in the first half 

The game was delayed with 12 minutes and 43 seconds left in the first half. The stoppage came at 8:26 pm and action resumed at 9:01.

Duffy opened the scoring on a goal in the 18th minute. She was sent in on goal by Karen Thomas and scored from 12 yards out to give the Rams the lead.
