Football: Seneca beats Burlington Township

Junior Steve Greco ran for 158 yards and a touchdown as Seneca defeated Burlington Township, 27-7, today in the first round of the South Jersey Group 3 playoffs.

Junior Steve Greco ran for 158 yards and a touchdown as Seneca defeated Burlington Township, 27-7, today in the first round of the South Jersey Group 3 playoffs.

Fifth-seeded Seneca (7-2) advances face top-seeded Hammonton (8-1) Friday night at the Blue Devils' field.

Greco carried 25 times and scored on a 57-yard run. The Golden Eagles controlled the line of scrimmage and rushed for 332 yards as a team.

Quarterback Charles Owl ran 60 yards for a touchdown and Matt Massucci went 33 yards for another score for Seneca.

Burlington Township, the No. 4 seed, finished with a 7-3 record. The Falcons don't have a Thanksgiving game.
