Bill Iezzi: Field Hockey Playoffs

I was looking at the NJSIAA field hockey brackets and the setup has the top seeds in each group in South and Central Jersey playing on successive days.

For example, Schalick, seeded first in South Group 1 and Gloucester City, No. 1 in Central Group 1 are scheduled to take on their first opponents of the postseason on Monday, Nov. 9.

The top seeds in South and Central Jersey Groups 2, 3 and 4 will play their first games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

I still can't figure how Eastern, ranked fifth in the nation, could be the third seed in South Group 4. But I'm sure that Vikings' coach Danyle Heilig will use that as fuel for the fire that will consume every opponent in the sectional, state and Tournament of Champions' competition.
