Which school has the best football field in South Jersey?

Field. Not stadium. Not complex.

And we're not talking history here. This isn't about tradition.

It's about playing surface.

And we're talking God's Astroturf, too -- the real stuff, the genuine grass.

Hammonton has a beautiful field. Woodbury has a great field.

But I'm voting for Overbrook.

I know. The Rams aren't exactly a power, although they are a respectable 3-4 this season.

But what a field. I was there Saturday when Overbrook played Gateway and I was amazed by Overbrook's field.

The grass is lush. It's like a carpet.

Plus -- and this is the coolest part -- the grass is an alternate shade of green every five yards, like that old Oakland-Alameda County Stadium field that we used to see on TV when the Raiders were good.

This is an excellent field.

I'm calling it the best in South Jersey.
