Matt Gelb: Inside the boys' soccer rankings

Only a little movement in this week's Top 10 as the games become even more meaningful down the stretch...

The Inquirer TOP 10
Boys' Soccer

With last week's ranking in parentheses.
Records are through Monday.

1. Council Rock N. (1) 10-1
Split against Pennsbury. But we'll keep them here because Jake Fields has yet to play.

2. Pennsbury (3) 11-1
Played perhaps the most entertaining game of the season against Rock North -- and established they can win the big one.

3. North Catholic (2) 7-2-1
A very weird kind of week with a win over Father Judge then a loss to Archbishop Ryan on two PKs.

4. Father Judge (5) 10-1-1
Only loss is a 1-0 game to North Catholic. La Salle and St. Joseph's Prep await this week.

5. Lower Merion (4) 10-2
Lost to Strath Haven, making the Central League race even more interesting.

6. La Salle (6) 9-1-1
Hard to differentiate between the top three Catholic League teams. It'll come down to the wire.

7. Unionville (10) 10-1
Big game with postseason implications against Octorara this week. The Ches-Mont League is turning into a good race, too.

8. Strath Haven (NR) 10-1-2
Haven't lost since the first game of the season -- to Pennsbury.

9. Conestoga (7) 7-1-1
Loss to Christopher Dock doesn't hurt in league play. Responded with a 7-2 win over Marple-Newtown in which seven different players scored.

10. Christopher Dock (NR) 9-3-1
A little bit of love for the small schools. Dock should win the Bicentennial and make some postseason noise.
