Football: Pennsbury leads District Power Rankings

Here are the current point ratings, through Oct. 4, for the PIAA football playoffs for District 1 teams. Included is the team record, points earned, and the average determined by dividing the points by the number of games played. It is the average that determines the season-ending placement for the playoffs.District 1 Class AAAA16 teams will qualify for the District 1 playoffs.

Eight teams will qualify for the District 1 playoffs.

District 1 and 12 Class AA
Three District 1 teams will compete with 11 District 12 teams for four spots in that Sub-region tournament. For the 2009 season, the top Catholic League team will play the top Public League for the first round which will also determine the District 12 Class AA champion. The top-ranked team from District 1 will play the next-highest rated team from District 12. These two games will be played Nov. 13-14.

Districts 1 and 12 Class A

Five District 1 teams will compete with six teams from District 12 for four spots in that Sub-region tournament. The top-ranked team from each district will receive an automatic bid. The next two teams with the highest rank in the sub-region will be selected to complete the bracket.
