Pa.: Saturday Boys' Soccer

Archbishop Ryan pushed up stopper Mark Vogelman into the attack area and the move paid off in a 1-0 Catholic League win over visiting Archbishop Wood. Vogelman made the most of a free ball 25 yards away from the goal and blasted a hard shot that found the net with 10 minutes left.

The Raiders (6-2-1 overall, 2-2-1 league) also played good defense in front of goalie Kyle Murphy, who needed to make only four saves for the shutout.

Darius Madison scored twice as La Salle topped visiting Roman Catholic, 3-0.

Suburban One Continental. Christian Benner scored in the game’s 16th minute off a pass from Scott Jablonski, and that goal held up to give host Souderton a 1-0 win over Central Bucks East. Souderton goalie Dave Giannini had five saves to post his fourth shutout of the season.

The Indians are 4-2-1 overall, 3-1-1 league.

Ches-Mont. Adam Boehr scored two goals to lift host Great Valley to a 3-0 win over West Chester East.

Greg Patrick scored to give host Octorara a 1-0 win over Oxford.

Pioneer Athletic. Boyertown got goals from Chad Craig, Greg Gary and Colin McCormick in a 3-1 win at Perkiomen Valley.

Friends Schools. Nick Fromell and Manolo Sanchez each scored twice as host Germantown Friends beat Friends Select, 9-0.

Nonleague. Michael Goldman scored twice for Penn Charter in a 3-1 win over visiting Peddie School (N.J.). Rob Frisky added a goal and assisted on both Goldman goals.

Nick Mascioli had three saves in goal for host Delco Christian in a 3-0 win over Springfield (Delaware County).

Voltaire Escalona and Ben Wysocki scored for Germantown Academy in a 2-0 win at Lawrenceville (N.J.).

Ryan Bradbury scored 10 minutes into the first half to give Downingtown East a 1-0 win at Penncrest.

First-half goals by Milton Rocco Berrera and Spencer Ivey gave Episcopal Academy a 2-0 win over visiting Hill School.

Bill Hawkey’s goal gave Pennington (N.J.) a 1-0 win at Chestnut Hill Academy.

Anton Radice’s goal midway through the second half gave Haverford High a 2-1 win at Interboro.

Host Shipley got a winning goal in the second half from Zac Arch to beat Radnor, 2-1.

The school hosted teams in boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer and field hockey as part of its annual Super Saturday.

Strath Haven made the long trip to Lansdale and came away with a 3-1 win over host Christopher Dock, thanks to a pair of second-half goals. One of the goals was Omar Randall’s first career goal. The other two were scored by John Shiiba and Dennis Zonchor. Kelsey Beck-Cullen faced seven shots and turned back six of them in goal for the Panthers (6-1-2).

Host New Hope-Solebury needed three second-half goals to beat Upper Moreland, 4-1. Matt Gregory scored in the first half for a 1-0 lead and, after the Golden Bears tied it, the Lions got goals from Wesley Michaels, Tim Vaughn and Graham Smith.
