PA: Monday Field Hockey

The logjam of unbeaten teams in Suburban One American Conference field hockey has been loosened a bit, thanks to a 4-0 win by host Wissahickon over Upper Dublin Monday.

Going into the game the Trojans were 4-0 overall, 2-0 league. Upper Dublin had won both of its league games, but dropped its only other two nonleague games.

Wissahickon took control by getting a pair of goals in each half and eight saves from goalie Jess Scannapieco, Lauren Becker, Zoe Kale, Colleen Lynch and Alyssa Tourdot scored.

The third team tied for first, Upper Moreland, entered with the same league record but was 4-2 overall.

Bicentennial. Jen Buell scored off a Brittany Wilson assist 2 minutes, 30 seconds into overtime to give host Lower Moreland a 1-0 win over Bristol. The Lions are now 5-1.

Jenkintown remained unbeaten in league play with a 3-0 win over visiting Delco Christian as Sarah Flood, Kelsey Rice and Haley Smith scored.

The Drakes (5-1, 3-0) also got four saves from goalie Erin Dawson.

Del-Val. Goalie Bryanna Donnelly had seven saves for Academy Park in its scoreless tie at Interboro.

Amanda Hoffman had six saves for the Bucs.

Pioneer Athletic. Kelly Kruk had 17 saves to highlight Methacton’s 2-2 tie with visiting Upper Perkiomen.

Kelly Bonner, Elissa Cook, Caitlin Mitchell and Kim Mooney scored for Owen J. Roberts in a 4-0 win at Pottsgrove.

Nonleague. Host Cardinal O’Hara remained unbeaten (6-0-1) with a workmanlike 6-0 win over Agnes Irwin. Megan George scored three goals and added an assist and Lisa McArdle added two goals and an assist. Meghan Kearney scored the game’s only other goal.

O’Hara’s team defense had a superb game in front of goalies Mary Kate O’Connell and Megan Durkin as neither netminder had to make a save. The Lions are now 6-0-1.
