Carpenter Cup Classic: Second semifinal stopped by lightning/rain

Monday's semifinal between Mercer County and Jersey Shore was suspended in the top of the seventh inning, with Mercer County leading by 2-1, due to lightning and rain.

It will resume at noon Tuesday, with the final beginning about an hour after its completion.

When play resumes, Mercer County will have runners on first and second with no outs.

In Monday's first semifinal, Lehigh Valley downed Tri-Cape, 4-1, to move within a win of its second title in three seasons.
