Inter-Ac/Independents struck for four runs in the first innings and did the same in the third en route to a 14-4 rout of the Public League in the middle game of a Capenter Cup Classic baseball tripleheader Thursday at Richie Ashburn Field.

Steve Scornajenghi highighted the first with a two-run double; Zeke Zabinski (double) and Joe Poduslenko (single) delivered RBI hits in the fourth.

Dan Grandieri (2 for 2, two runs), Kevin McGowan (2 for 3, run), and Matt Kozemchak (2 for 3, run) also contributed to a 14-hit attack. Russell Rhoads, a righthander from Episcopal Academy, pitched three shutout innings in a starting role.
