Football: Souderton's Young commits to 'Nova

Souderton High's Rick Young, a 6-foot-2, 290-pound lineman, orally committed to play football at Villanova Monday. A member of the Class of 2014, he is projected to play nose guard for the Wildcats.

Souderton High's Rick Young, a two-way lineman, has committed to play for Villanova. He was ranked No. 10 in Southeastern Pennsylvania for the Class of 2014 by The Inquirer.

Souderton High's Rick Young, a 6-foot-2, 290-pound lineman, orally committed to play football at Villanova Monday. A member of the Class of 2014, he is projected to play nose guard for the Wildcats.

In each of the last two seasons, Young was a first-team all-Suburban One League Continental Conference selection on both sides of the ball. He was an Inquirer second-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania pick on offense last year.

He also received interest from Lehigh, Lafayette, and Temple.
