Here are some tidbits from Saturday's Catholic League Class AAAA championship thriller between La Salle and St. Joseph's Prep, won by the Explorers, 28-27, in overtime, at Plymouth Whitemarsh:

Here are some tidbits from Saturday's Catholic League Class AAAA championship thriller between La Salle and St. Joseph's Prep, won by the Explorers, 28-27, in overtime, at Plymouth Whitemarsh:

La Salle junior linebacker Zaire Franklin registered 14 tackles, including eight solos. Next in line for the Explorers was tackle Tom Spiteri (six solos). End Jon Naji (third-quarter sack), linebacker Trent Simmons, and cornerback Dad Poquie each were involved in five tackles. ...

La Salle quarterback Chris Kane hit on 31 of 47 throws for a season-high 328 yards and 4 touchdowns, all to Sean Coleman (14 catches for 139 yards). The Explorers' other pass-catchers were Chris Herron (eight for 107), Jared Herrmann (four for 30), Andrew Halton (two for 30), Mike Eife (two for 10), and Jordan Meachum (one for 12). ...
