Mount St. Joseph wins Catholic Academies golf title

Junior Alison Snakard shot a 1-under-par 35 over nine holes on Wednesday to lead Mount St. Joseph to the team title in the Catholic Academies golf championships at Honeybrook Golf Club in Chester County.

Mount St. Joseph, boasting five of the top seven finishers, shot an overall 201. Villa Maria was second with a 225, with Villa Joseph Marie another four strokes back.

Two Catholic Academies teams -- Mount St. Joseph and Merion Mercy -- will compete in Tuesday’s Class AAA District 1 tournament at Gilbertsville Golf Club. Three Catholic Academies teams -- Villa Maria, Gwynedd-Mercy, and Villa Joseph Marie -- will vie for the Class AA district championship. 

Teams: Mount St. Joseph 201, Villa Maria 225, Villa Joseph Marie 229, Merion Mercy 233, Gwynedd-Mercy 241, Sacred Heart 290, Nazareth 308.
