Barry Closer to National Record

The magic number for Eastern field hockey goalkeeper Alana Barry to break the national record for shutouts now is two.

The Vikings, who beat Washington Township, 5-2, on Sept. 16, shut out the Minutemaids, 4-0, on Wednesday afternoon. The national record is 67. Barry has 66.

If Barry & Co. are able to blank Triton on Oct. 6 and Cherokee on Oct. 11, the senior will have the new record. - Bill Iezzi
