Phil Anastasia: Gloucester falls to New Egypt in softball state semifinals

New Egypt scored nine runs in the first inning and Emily Bausher pitched a two-hitter en route to a 10-0 victory over Gloucester in the Group 1 state semifinals in softball.

New Egypt scored nine runs in the first inning and Emily Bausher pitched a two-hitter en route to a 10-0 victory over Gloucester in the Group 1 state semifinals in softball.

Bausher, who will play softball at Lehigh, had two hits and scored two runs.

Erika Tucker had three hits and Sam Beckett ended the game with her second double, driving in the 10th run in the bottom of the sixth.

New Egypt (24-3) advances to the Group 1 state title game on Saturday.

Teresa Anderson and Amanda Boulden had singles for Gloucester (18-8), the South Jersey champion.
