Phil Anastasia: Seneca vs. Paul VI postponed

Well, it could have been a great game. And still might be, when they make it up (no date yet).

But it's off thanks to wet fields and forecasts for more rain. Get ready for more of the same on Wednesday.

Earlier: As of right now (1:48 p.m.) Seneca vs. Paul VI in an Olympic National showdown on the Golden Eagles' field is on.

The game is set for 3:45, so how knows how much rain can pass through before then? And I've got a sneaky feeling we might get started and have to stop.

But they are going to try to play what should be a great game. Paul VI leads the division with a 6-1 record. The Eagles have been crushing the ball. They cracked The Inquirer Top 10 this week. They are 15-6 overall.

Seneca ace Kevin Comer is scheduled to take the mound. Expect 20 scouts behind the backstop. The Golden Eagles are 4-2 in the division (with another game left with Eustace) and 9-6 overall.

But with a heathy Comer on the mound, they rank among the best teams around.
