The 38th annual Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic baseball tournament begins next weekend with eight games at four sites.

The 38th annual Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic baseball tournament begins next weekend with eight games at four sites.

The title game is May 22 at 5:30 p.m. at Eastern. Lenape is the defending champion.

Four Olmpic American teams made the field, three as at-large teams. No. 1 Gloucester Catholic is a heavy favorite, although the Rams will face a challenge from Pitman in the opening round.

Here's the pairings:

Saturday, May 14
At Maple Shade High School:
Holy Cross (12-2) vs. St. Augustine (11-2), 10:30 a.m.
Washington Twp. (11-3) vs. Highland (11-1), 1 p.m.

At Deptford High School:
Eastern (12-5) vs. Audubon (11-3), 10:30 a.m.
Lenape (10-4) vs. Cherokee (10-5), 1 p.m.

At Overbrook High School:
Buena (11-5) vs. Delran (10-4), 10:30 a.m.
Holy Spirit (14-2) vs. Haddon Heights (13-1), 1 p.m.

At Washington Twp. High School:
Pitman (11-2) vs. Gloucester Catholic (18-1), 10:30 a.m.
Millville (12-2) vs. Paul VI (11-4), 1 p.m.

Saturday, May 21
Second round games, 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Sunday, May 22
Semifinals, 12:30 p.m.
Championship game, 5:30 p.m.
