Bill Iezzi: Kingsway First Baseman Hurt

Kingsway first baseman Jesse Phillips sat out Thursday's game with Shawnee with an injury. Coach Tony Barchuk expects her to return to the lineup against Williamstown on Monday.

Phillips, a four-year starter, "tweaked her ankle" while crossing home plate in the second inning of a Tri-County Conference interdivisional game with Gloucester Catholic on Tuesday.

Phillips is crucial to the team because of her solid defense and her batting average, which is over .300. She hits second in the lineup

Kingsway beat Gloucster Catholic, 14-6, and defeated Shawnee, 6-3.
