Bill Iezzi: Pitman's Pride

Pitman's 60-56 loss to Asbury Park in an NJSIAA Group 1 state semifinal was a crushing blow to a team that had brought so much joy to its community.

Specifically, the six seniors who propelled the Panthers to their first South Jersey Group 1 title since 1998, were the pride of Pitman.

Dylan Colgate, Luke Dickson, Joe Kelly, Alec Matchett and John Sayer had provided the thrills that led the Panthers to a title and a 28-3 record.

"I'm very proud of this team," said Kevin Crawford, the Panthers' coach. "This senior class left everything they had out on the floor. There's nothing but pride for Pitman basketball and all the kids on our team."
